DAY 1
Arrive in Ladakh and settle in

Arrive in Ladakh, the Land of High Passes. You will be greeted and ushered by our representative to the hotel. On the first day, guests are always advised to avoid physical activity and to rest as the body needs to acclimatize in the high altitude.

In the evening, relax and enjoy the serene, snow-covered landscape of Ladakh from the comfort of your retreat, followed by a warm dinner.

DAY 2
Explore Hemis and Thiksey Monasteries

Begin your day with a leisurely breakfast and take in the mesmerising views of the Himalayas.

Discover the grandeur of Thiksey Monastery, a majestic structure often likened to the famous Potala Palace of Lhasa. Set on a hilltop, this 12-story monastery offers a deep spiritual ambiance and is home to a large collection of Buddhist art, scriptures, and statues. As you wander through its sacred halls, take in the serenity of the monastery, which is complemented by stunning panoramic views of the Indus Valley. The peaceful environment, combined with the cool mountain breeze, makes it a truly unforgettable spiritual experience.

After your monastery visit, head to the Shey Marshlands, an idyllic spot perfect for bird enthusiasts. Amidst the wetlands, enjoy a tranquil bird-watching session, spotting various species native to the region. As you immerse yourself in nature, sip on steaming tea and indulge in freshly baked local cookies, enhancing the charm of the experience. The marshlands not only offer a peaceful retreat but also a unique opportunity to connect with Ladakh’s natural beauty, creating moments of calm amidst the rugged landscape.

DAY 3
Scenic drive to Rumbak Valley for an immersive nature experience

After breakfast, embark on an adventurous drive to Nubra Valley via the famous Khardungla Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Arrive at your warm and welcoming cottage at Lchang Nang Retreat. Unwind in the midst of the spectacular Karakoram landscape.

In the evening, dive into the rich culture of the Karakoram region and enjoy a curated chef’s tasting menu inspired by the flavours of a bygone era.

Unbeknownst to most, Nubra Valley is God’s gift to astronomers. It is said to be one of the best sites for stargazing in the world. Its unique geography, crystal clear air, and high elevation make it the perfect place to spot shooting stars, connect constellations, and gaze at galaxies after dinner.

DAY 4
Discover the charm of Kyagar Village

After a relaxed breakfast, visit the forgotten petroglyphs that date back to the Bronze Age and learn about the legendary flying monk, Dachompa Nyima Gungpa.

Visit Kyagar Village and engage with elders who share fascinating stories of the Old Silk Route, once a bustling trade path through the Karakoram.

By now you should have worked up quite an appetite. Go indoors for a lavish feast consisting of local Ladakhi delicacies. Learn about Ladakhi cooking styles and sample some classic creations by our in-house chef using only the freshest ingredients and time-tested techniques.

Continue your exploration of the heavens with our experienced guide and telescope. Learn the intricacies of astronomy, such as finding coordinates and distinguishing between different types of heavenly bodies.

DAY 5
Embark on a wildlife adventure in Kuri Village

Start early for a wildlife adventure in Kuri village on the opposite side of the Siachen River, where you might spot the elusive Snow Leopard, often referred to as the "Ghost of the Mountains." Discover the hidden gems of the Karakoram mountains and soak in the untouched beauty of this high-altitude region. Wait for sunset in hopes of witnessing the majestic predator descend from the mountains for their evening hunt.

DAY 6
Early morning hike in the serene Kuri Phu Valley

Begin your day with an early hike in the Kuri Phu Valley within the Karakoram Wildlife Sanctuary to observe Ladakh's unique wildlife. As you trek through the rugged terrain, keep an eye out for snow leopards, blue sheep, and Tibetan wolves in their natural habitat. The breathtaking views of the snow-capped Karakoram Range add to the unforgettable experience.

Return to the retreat and unwind after an exciting day, enjoying the peaceful evening atmosphere.

DAY 7
Visit the remote Murgi Village in the Saltoro Range

Begin your day with an early start towards Murgi Village, located on the other side of the Siachen River. Head towards the village for another chance to spot the Snow Leopard and observe the distinct wildlife of the Saltoro Range. Enjoy the pristine winter beauty and capture the surreal landscapes of this remote part of the world.

End your day watching the sunset and return to the retreat for a relaxing evening by the fireplace.

DAY 8
Journey to the quaint Tangyar Village

Set off early towards Tangyar Village, nestled in the Wari La Pass region, to witness a wide variety of mammals in their natural habitat. After a day of adventure, return to Lchang Nang for a relaxing evening.

Unwind by the bonfire, listening to untold stories of local wildlife while enjoying mouthwatering appetisers and a delicious dinner.

End your day with a cosy dinner, reflecting on the awe-inspiring vistas you’ve encountered.

DAY 9
Dive into the vibrant atmosphere of Leh Market

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The luxurious breakfast spread is carefully curated to provide a wholesome and energetic boost to an incredible day ahead. Also, don’t forget to try Sea Buckthorn Juice, which is considered to be a superfood.

Take a leisurely walk through the Leh Market in the evening, where you can purchase souvenirs and local handicrafts for friends and family.

DAY 10
Departure from Leh to New Delhi by air

Enjoy your final breakfast in Ladakh before being escorted to the airport. Bid farewell to the mystical land of Ladakh, taking home memories of its winter wonderland and carrying with you the memories of a serene and adventurous winter retreat at Lchang Nang.
