DAY 1
Arrival in Leh

Welcome to Ladakh, the Land of High Passes! Upon your arrival at Leh Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Winter in Leh is breathtaking, with a serene blanket of snow covering the valleys.

Since Leh is at a high altitude (3,500 meters), it is crucial to spend the day resting and allowing your body to acclimatise to the cold, thin air. Take it easy, sip on some hot Ladakhi tea, and marvel at the snow-clad landscape that stretches out before you.

Tip: In winter, the air is crisp and dry, so make sure to stay hydrated and keep warm indoors.

DAY 2
Explore Leh, Thiksey Monastery, & Shey Marshlands
Morning

After a fulfilling breakfast, spend the morning at leisure. Enjoy the tranquillity that only winter in Leh can offer. Admire the frozen rivers and the stillness of the snow-covered land.

Head to the iconic Thiksey Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery perched on a hilltop resembling the Potala Palace in Lhasa. In winter, the monastery is even more magical, surrounded by snow. Later, visit the Shey Marshlands for some bird watching. In winter, the marshlands take on a new beauty, attracting winter birds and offering a peaceful retreat. Enjoy a warm cup of tea and cookies as you take in the serene views.

DAY 3
Leh to Nubra Valley - Khardung La Pass

After a hearty breakfast, begin your journey towards the stunning Nubra Valley, one of the coldest deserts in the world. En route, stop at the Khardung La Pass (5,359 meters), the highest motorable pass in the world. Winter adds an extra layer of adventure as the road takes you through snow-blanketed peaks and valleys.

Arrive in Nubra and check in to the Lchang Nang Retreat, offering a seamless blend of comfort and luxury. The authentic hospitality of the Karakoram region will warm your heart despite the chilly weather.

Immerse yourself in the lost culture and traditions of the Karakoram, then indulge in the chef's tasting menu that will transport your taste buds to a bygone era. End the evening with a guided stargazing session, where the clear winter skies reveal deep sky objects, planets, and constellations like never before.

DAY 4
Eurasian Lynx Expedition - Tirith & Lakjung Villages
Morning

The adventure truly begins as you head out early towards Tirith and Lakjung villages in search of the Eurasian Lynx. The snow-covered Karakoram Range serves as the perfect backdrop for spotting this elusive predator, known for its keen hunting skills. Winter is the ideal time to observe the Lynx as it descends from the higher altitudes.

After lunch, you will have time to rest before venturing out again at dusk. As the sun sets, you may spot predators coming down into the valley to hunt, offering a rare glimpse into the circle of life in these icy wildernesses. Return to the hotel for a warm meal and relaxation.

DAY 5
Lynx Tracking in Teggar Village

Another early start takes you to Teggar village, where your chances of spotting the Eurasian Lynx in the wild winter terrain are high. With experienced guides, you'll learn to track these majestic creatures as they roam the snowy ridges of the Karakoram.

After the morning’s adventure, the afternoon is at leisure. Explore the local area, or simply relax in your warm, comfortable accommodation. In the evening, return to the valley for another chance to observe predators on the prowl as dusk sets in.

DAY 6
Pinchimik & Chamsen-Lynx Expedition Continues

Today, journey to the remote villages of Pinchimik and Chamsen for more opportunities to spot the Eurasian Lynx. This region of the Karakoram Wildlife Sanctuary offers unparalleled views of the rugged winter landscape, with the potential for rare wildlife sightings.

In the late afternoon, take time to relax at your hotel, enjoying the peaceful winter surroundings. After a hearty dinner, head out once again at dusk to catch predators as they emerge for their evening hunts.

DAY 7
Final Lynx Tracking - Teggar Village

Make one last journey towards Teggar Village, keeping a keen eye on the skylines for any signs of the Eurasian Lynx. With snow crunching underfoot and your breath visible in the frosty air, it’s an unforgettable experience that connects you with Ladakh’s raw, untamed wilderness.

Spend your final evening in Nubra reflecting on your incredible journey into the wild. Indulge in a warm meal and relax by the fire, celebrating the magic of this winter expedition.

DAY 8
Nubra to Leh

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Leh. The journey offers stunning winter vistas as you descend from the Nubra Valley, passing through snow-laden mountain roads and breathtaking landscapes.

Arrive in Leh, where you can spend the evening relaxing and shopping for local souvenirs.

DAY 9
Departure from Leh

Post breakfast, our representative will assist you with your transfer to the Leh Airport. Bid farewell to this mystical land, taking unforgettable memories of your winter adventure in Ladakh and your encounters with the elusive Eurasian Lynx.
